  Really great review, first time i stumbled upon your channel. Really like how you talk about more advanced technical things that pretty much no other review mentions and actually go over some device specific problems that could be important for people - such as Twitter performance issues, no video out and bloatware for Vivo phones. And that's how it should be for such high end devices, you should be going over more advanced technical side things since 99% of people buying this phone at least in western markets will be enthusiasts that are already deep in the phone game and are more tech savvy, i can already look up basic specs on gsmarena, but i won't get the nuances without watching reviews and so far this is the best review for this fold 2 that i've seen by far.

  Ive had this device for a few weeks now, also from Wonda Mobile (3 day shipping to the US). I love this hardware, software...not too thrilled, very basic. Also, 5G doesn't;t work in the states (ATT, Verizon or Tmobile). I have the Oppo Find N2 and prefer the build, the software, the cameras, hopefully, Vivo keeps releasing updates on the software side.
  
  The Vivo Fold 2 also gets really hot on a wireless charger and because this is a Chinese based device, Android Auto doesn't work in the states.

  The software is better on Fold 4 and soon to be Fold 5 on Samsung. Samsung Tech is way ahead but they don't really show it on there phones, more on there Laptops, the chinese phone the Vivo X Fold 2 is good but it lacks andriod auto which i use in my car, and software is not as dated as Samsung's and it also doesnt get as much OTA updates as the US phones do, but the looks of the vivo does look better, but i feel i would have more problems with the Vivo vs Samsung expecially with the galaxy wearable app because all my stuff is Samsung and it all works together, watch 5 pro samsung buds, Samsung TV etc. It sadly lacks too many standard things, once they add more US like features like google services, galaxy themes, etc, I'll consider it...

  Good video, but I'd be very concerned about any technical hardware or software support, as well as trade in values. Also, the software/os in general is critical. It can't be all about hardware. This phone despite it's hardware specs would be a hard pass for me.

  To be honest Samsung software is miles ahead of any foldable what so ever. Samsung's software makes their device a phone, a tablet, a basic pc which justifies the price. However most of these chinese foldable would be limited to being a good phone and an average tablet. So i'll pass.

  No foldable is perfect and it appears in 2023 to maintain the price, compromises have had to be made. As far as hardware this leaves the Fold4 in the dust, but that was last years Samsung so we await the Fold5 which should match performance and finally Samsung have ditched their own hinge design and will use the industry standard. Still, the Fold5 outer display aspect-ratio is a no-go for me so another year where Samsung will not get my money.
  
  ATM deciding between the latest Huawei and the Pixel Fold. My desire for a larger display is not to multitask, it is to simply have a larger display with larger text for my weak eyes. So the fancy pants software is moot and flex mode is not important as I will use the outer screen for most daily stuff. This seems a solid alternative but no global version means a no buy as spending that much on something like this has high risks.

  Chris, I noticed that less and less brands are coming out with global versions: for instance new Oppos, Vivo, Realme etc. It seems a trend. Even Sony with their new Experia is not global. Here in Australia we are now getting limited to Apple, Samsung and Google Pixel. It has become a very arid market place. Hard to find well performing phones with SN 8 gen 2 for instance.

  Got this instead of waiting for the fold 5. I'm enjoying this fold way more than the fold 4. Bigger external display, Faster charging and bigger battery was the main reasons for the purchase. I do agree Samsung's software is better but the Vivo's hardware is worth the trade-off
