God, I love this man. Mr. Fisher—I’ve been a huge fan of yours for 14-15 years that I’ve followed you and watched your tech reviews as “Captain 2 Phones.” Your reviews are always insightful and most of all—I’ve always found you to be amongst the MOST fair, respectful and honest reviewers on the web, regardless of platform. EVERY single “When phones were fun” videos hit me right in the feels as I remember that era of new super innovative technology features coming to laptops, tablets, watches and smartphones as smartphones grew to replace most of our dedicated devices as I’m just a few years older than you and can relate to your college and work history from the same era.

Does anyone know about the Nokia N76..... It wipes the floor with most old 'school flip phones.... FYI The Nseries ran Symbian OS, which is a smartphone OS
I owned it myself and it was such a versatile phone because of how much you can do with and clamshell smartphone..... This was also years ago They had it in Cloverfield..😏😌

Always wanted a v60 to go with the v66i I sometimes still use today. The looks it gets is priceless! Wish I could find a belt clip too!!

My father LOVES this phone. He love this model so much he bought like 3 of them. He kept using it them till they weren't available for buy anymore and even them he kept asking me to find him one, but mobile companies wouldn't allow those phones to be part of their ecosystem anymore so he was forced to ditch it.
This and the Startac are my father favorites phones of all times. I even owned one of the V60 for a few years
@user_.M.OciVailgeVovatsuG 2023-12-01T01:39:07Z
love this phone. I remember i was crazy for one at the time, but never had one simply because they were too expensive here, so i kept my V8160 and in the blink of an eye the V60 was old and got discontinued.
@user_sedalbsekiM 2023-11-24T07:14:13Z

@user_suciragAkniP 2023-11-17T02:33:48Z
The other motorola I remember is the Sidekick, which got handed to Samsung before it got shelved, I feel like that model was available at T-Mobile in the 2000's to early to mid 2010's.
I wish slide out keyboards would return, even if it removes those fancy cameras.
@user_sserhpmUynnhoJ 2023-10-11T17:07:16Z
The Motorola V60, the best phone ever built. I held onto that phone as long as Verizon would continue to allow it on their grid. I wish I could still use it.
@user_055iiMiniM 2023-10-07T16:18:22Z
My Mercedes E Class from 2007 has a phone cradle for one of these old phones located in the center console and if I had phone plugged in I could even read and respond to text messages through the car’s nagivation screen or even read them through the tachometer screen. Thankfully one of the previous owners had the foresight to purchase the then also available Bluetooth attachment for that cradle so even today I can use my modern iPhone 14Pro on my car from 16 years ago and still see who is calling and answer or even place phone calls.
@user_5874sugnab 2023-08-17T16:05:26Z

My dad had that phone after upgrading from a StarTak and then a ton of my friends had it as their first cell phone because it was affordable and every cell service carrier had some version of it.

I remember I wanted this phone so bad. At the time i had a Nokia 3310 (3390 here in Canada). I thought it was such a great design and build.
@user_TYocirdoM 2023-04-25T23:59:45Z
For TWO DAYS STRAIGHT I heard MrMobile saying "The Motorola that brought us that RAZR and the V60 before it has been legally gone for some time now" in my dreams
@user_01ilamyppaH 2023-04-23T15:24:38Z
I had a hand-me-down Siemens M35i growing up (yes, that turquoise rubber block that does what the 3310 is claimed to do), and my parents told me I could get a fliphone if the Siemens broke. So, being just a little assy, I tried to "accidentally" break the Siemens. And failed. I couldn't purposely break the thing in anything that would resemble accident-damage. So I got my flipphone like 2 years ago, for 20€.
I still got the Siemens, it still works. I got two of them, actually.

@user_8502imlehnidduzzi 2022-12-23T00:07:14Z
My dad used to work for Motorola. Had used the V60 back in 2002 and V100. My favourite solid phone from Motorola would be the Talkabout. The yellow finish simply doesn’t fade away. After 20 years.
@user_yugdnalsidam 2022-12-18T04:05:45Z
My favorite phone to this day was my V60. Great reception and battery life. I even dropped it (accidentally) off a scaffold tower 30 feet or so onto concrete one February with zero damage. It was the only time the antenna didn't break.

@user_7984pmartrepusnwonknu 2022-10-16T23:47:31Z
Mobile phones are a little bit like cars, they used to be beautiful and there were diferent models to choose from and it was fun to have one. A new model was at least interestig to look at, no matter if you liked it or not. My best phone calls by the way I made on a Flipp Up type phone - back in the days. No operataror was listening and not even the governrment was taping my calls or tracking my conversation.
@user_etekcaweip 2022-10-11T10:31:03Z

Never seen anyone using this here in EU, maybe it was too posh for young generation. Thanks for presenting this gem of a 2000s design. A clamshell design with extendable antenna but no funeral house black body - and even finished in metal ! Really a designer piece, not just a daily commodity for making calls. And what an evolution it went through !

i bought a NOS V60i from a local authorized bell mobility reseller in 2005. At that point i was 15 and using a cheap-o Audiovox CDM8600 that my parents so graciously got for me the summer before. Color screen and downloadable ringtones were not enough to make me want to stick with it... the v60i was an older device but still the most stylish portable phone my carrier sold. I secretly spent almost $500 to buy my v60i outright. The store owner was just some guy who loved electronics so the interaction was super casual - nothing like going into a carrier branded store. He could dissasemble and fix out of warrenty devices and his store was full of random electronics wall to wall. I would regularlly stop by after school to check out what he was working on. A carrier store would never have sold a 15 year old a phone let alone do the IMEI swap to someone who was underage and not on the account as a user - but 'the phone guy' knew i was passionate about electronics and that my parents 'wouldnt mind' if he swapped out phones for me on their plan. I remember getting comments from adults about my beloved v60 'what are you doing with such a nice phone' lol. I still have it along with my collection of OEM metal housings - one in red, green, gold, silver, gun metal and one thats almost grey-green. There were so many color variants for these phones! I wish i could use one today <3

As I watch this on my iPhone 12 Pro Max it’s easy to forget where cell phones started and how far they have come… I collect old cell phones and have a few antiques that still work and I play with from time to time and it’s just amazing to think about the technology we have now vs what we had back then… Michael I love these when phones were fun videos cause it just brings back memories 😁 sorry for the long comment lol
