Oppo could figure out new design of rear cameras arrangement. It feels dated by now and sometimes inconvenient. It's a minor con or rather a matter of taste though. I like what Huawei did with Pura 70 series in this regard.

That soft light feature makes the pics look like the under display camera shots. By having this feature are they trying to gaslight us into thinking that's a good look for photos?

Honestly, I'm dissappointed a bit with 8 oppo series. Don't like the imitation of iphone. Camera button is useless for me. Since I can't use it focuse by slight press, there're no reasons not to use the screen button. I'd prefer to have that legendary camera button that is used in Sony smartphones. As for cameras, there's no massive upgrade from the last year. At least it isn't very noticeable that the moment, I need to watch some more comparisons. Yeah, I think that overall camera perfomance is very-very good. However, it's a pity that there wull definetely be some problems with GCam because of the Mtk inside. X7 ultra is capable to take great photos with google camera. Oh yes, I'd like to see IMX 890 in 65 mm camera since lyt 600 kinda sucks, IMHO.
So it's a good phone overall, but the last oppo that I would really like to buy was x2 pro (and maybe x7 ultra, because I like the way how photos are processed more than it's done on vivo or xiaomi). This feels rather boring...

I am glad that Oppo has included 2 periscope lenses. As someone who chooses much tighter frames, this makes me happy.

Apple sucks in terms of cam IQ, it was always like that! Apple phones are being overpriced, and just a silly status symbol for some folks. Using Android since 1.5 - go figure. I was using last September 2023 a EggPhone with iOS 17.1.1...damn, too crazy, soo much hassle, just to copy out the names, phone no. and mail address from the address book - lots, tons of extra clicky-di-click here & there, compared to MIUI, or now HyperOS. For myself, iOS is PITA, FR! Usability is crazy, compared to Android.

And another reason is why - simply Apple doesn't have anything comparable into IQ like a Vivo X100 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, or Find X8 Pro, and into march 2025 comes already the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, X200 Ultra. And one can buy all 12 months a new phone for some 1500 bucks, if you want to have the latest & greatest! For that price, one can always buy a decent FF setup, at least 2-3 fine lenses, and still have a lot of money left, via used market. Apple iPhone doesn't have Type 1.0/1" Sensors, they're all smaller than that. That means, smaller main camera Sensors than 13.2x8.8mm, because that's what a 1 inch Sensor is like - called Nikon CX format, because Nikon created this into 2011, via Nikon 1 system. And it became most popular into 2012, when Sony launched the original RX100.

Just a joke, all small phone camera Sensors are nothing in terms of rendition, tonality, fidelity, compared to a real full frame setup. A phone is a phone is a friggin phone, its good for what it is - nowadays, but don't compare it to real gear. I do shoot >4 decades, since i was a kid.

FYI, Oppo copied nothing - the mighty DMC-CM1 Lumix Smartphone anno 2014 (!!!) featured already a Type 1.0 Sensor, with a Leica DC Elmarit 28/2.8 ASPH lens - and have had a dedicated Camera button - Apple copied this from Panasonic, get real, folks ! Apple rarely invented something - but copied & cloned many industry stuff, than pushed it as their own creation, go figure. Xerox was worlds #1 with the graphical user interface (GUI) via OS, and a mouse - long before Apple ! I know Apple since the early 80s.

Theey are going to convert a lot of Apple users.. slowly but surely.. they're going to get everyone with the magsafe.. great job oppo.. please do a comparison against Vivo x200 pro😊

Copying the Camera Control is fine. But copying the position and bad control function is pretty much why iPhone clones are always behind in terms of ingenuity. Sometimes you don't need to overengineer something to make it "unique". Heck I'm only mad for it's bad positioning. Would've made the "control" on Camera Control more prominent.
